Hey, my name is Benjy Mason and I'm the program coordinator for Workshop Houston, a non-profit organization in Third Ward. We run a variety of youth arts programs including a Bike Shop, a Style Shop (fashion design and screen printing), a Beat Shop (hip hop music production), and a Chopper Shop (custom bike building and metal working!). You can see more information about what we do on our website at www.workshophouston.org and you are all welcome to stop by at any time!
I'm posting here because I wanted to let you all know about our programs, and also because we are currently looking to hire a Chopper Shop Coordinator to run the metal working and custom bike building portion of our programs and I thought this might be a good place to find people. I've posted the job summary below. Please feel free to email me at benjy (at) workshophouton (dot) org if you have any questions or know anyone who might be interested in the position.
Job Summary:
The Chopper Shop is a fully equipped welding and metal fabrication studio, with electric and gas welding set-ups, and a wide variety of hand and power tools for metal working. The Chopper Shop runs hands-on bike building and metal working programs for teenagers in Third Ward.
